Have you ever received Medisoft 6610 or 6633 Errors? When you get either of these errors, Medisoft will lock up, you won’t be able to click off the error screen, and you will need to restart the program or restart your computer. Both errors are the same and are also solved in the same way.

The Medisoft 6610 error occurs on a workstation when it is unable to communicate with the Advantage Database Server.

The Medisoft 6633 error occurs on the server when the server is unable to communicate with the client and the client is on the server.

Medisoft 7003 Error

How To Resolve a 7003 Error in Medisoft

This occurs when you have too many users logged into Medisoft. There are a few reasons that this will occur, the most common being that the current number of users exceeds the licensed amount. To remedy this try to get all users out of the Medisoft and Office Hours then go to your server and look at your Advantage Configuration Utility and see what the current users is at.

Open the table and if the current users are not at 0 then select stop service.

WARNING: Do not stop services if people are in the system and working as it can cause data corruption. Once the table clears select start service and have the users get back in.

Notice: On the newer version of Network Professional there is a mobile service available, if you continue to experience issues after restarting services this may have turned on by default and be requiring a license. If you are not using the mobile service you can open services by opening the services window and disabling the McKesson MSL Mobile service.

Medisoft Errors: 5016 Error

How to Fix Medisoft Error 5016

When attempting to open Medisoft or while in the program you may encounter an error, Medisoft error 5016.

What does this mean?

Error 5016 typically indicates an issue with the data, like a corrupt table index. This error can occur in many different places within Medisoft.

How can I resolve this?

There is a simple fix to this that could correct the error. If the fix we’ll describe here doesn’t resolve the error. There could be additional data related corruption or more serious issues going on. If this fix doesn’t resolve the error, then we recommend you contact AZCOMP Technologies so we can do more troubleshooting and more advanced repairs.

If you receive the error above when using Medisoft, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure all other Medisoft users have logged out of the program (if you’re using a network version of Medisoft)
  2. Make a backup of your database. Read this post to learn how to create a Medisoft backup.
  3. Run file maintenance in Medisoft. Watch this video below on how to run file maintenance to clear Medisoft error 5016.

After you’ve run file maintenance, log back into Medisoft and the error should no longer appear.

Medisoft – How to Register Your Medisoft Software

First time buyer or upgrading? You’ve got to register your software.

Don’t leave it until the last minute. Registering your software is the first required step after you’ve installed Medisoft, or upgraded to the newest version.

Within your first 30 days of installing Medisoft, new or upgraded, you are required to register Medisoft. You can choose to click the ‘Register Later’ button, but we don’t recommend it because after 30 days, if you still have not registered your software, you will be locked out of the system.

If you have upgraded your software from a previous version, you are still required to register it within that 30 day time period. This registration process can be a source of frustration for some customers because they are given a registration number, but do not realize that they need to add their registration code for their upgrade as well. You might think you can get through all the steps, but if you’re missing this particular piece after upgrading, it can leave you feeling like you don’t know what you’re doing.

Huge Fix for Statement Notes in Medisoft v23

We all know that Medisoft is a great billing program, but there are certain things that can be a real source of frustration for billers.

One of those is the fact that there is only 1 field for entering any sort of notes regarding transactions in a patient statement.

Sometimes the biller wants to write down some internal notes that the patient shouldn’t see. Sometimes the biller needs to write in information about a rejection or denial or partial payment from the insurance company. Sometimes there are other notes that need to be made, but where are they supposed to go? We know this causes a lot of challenges for Medisoft users.

In the newest version of Medisoft, this all gets fixed (plus, some bells and whistles, too).

In Medisoft Version 23, there are now 3 separate fields for notes:

  1. Notes that can get applied to the statement sent to patients
  2. Internal Notes
  3. Custom Notes that you feel would fit your practice

This alone should solve a lot of problems, save a lot of time, and make life easier for a lot of billers. But, it gets even better!

Now, Medisoft will auto-apply notes from the insurance carrier. It is just a one-time setup for all the reason codes in your office and then every time you get information back from the insurance carrier, Medisoft will automatically put that into the correct field and it will show up on your statements you sent to the patient.

For example, if a patient is treated and you submit a claim to the insurance carrier, and that claim is rejected because it is not covered, the insurance carrier will provide a code for that rejection with an explanation. That code will trigger Medisoft to apply a pre-written note by you (the biller) into a statement that you end up sending to the patient. This is going to be a huge time saver for you and adds a real nice layer of convenience to help you get much more done in a lot less time. You’re going to love it.
